IBA is the worldwide governing body of boxing in all its forms. IBA earlier known as AIBA changed its acronym, logo and brand in December 2021. IBA consists of five confederations — AFBC, AMBC, ASBC, EUBC, OCBC and has associations with 204 national federations. The International Boxing Association, its National Federations and Confederations work on grassroots development and on all levels of boxing, men and women, to popularize and develop the sports of boxing and create new opportunities for our athletes. IBA also runs developmental programmes for coaches, ringside doctors, ring assistants, referees etc to develop all the aspects of the sports. Going ahead IBA is planning to build continental boxing academies that will work as an educational and training spaces and its first pilot project is planned for EUBC Assisi Academy .In 2020 Mr Umar Kremlev became the IBA president and has initiated several reforms in the amateur boxing including increasing the number of weight categories in amateur boxing for men and women to 13 and 12, respectively.
